Set in the northeastern corridor of Powhatan County is the community of Flat Rock/Judes Ferry. This region is situated right on the borders of Powhatan and Chesterfield Counties, which puts residents in a prime location for peaceful living, great shopping and fantastic dining options. Flat Rock is accessible via Route 60 and Huguenot Trail, and because World War II Veteran’s Memorial Highway (Route 288) is nearby, all the conveniences of Richmond and Short Pump are within easy reach.
Discover Flat Rock/Judes Ferry
The main roadway through the Flat Rock region is Jude’s Ferry Road. Running north to south throughout the area, this byway connects commuters with some of the area’s most important offerings, such as Flat Rock Elementary School, Powhatan High School and Flat Rock’s most popular shopping destination, South Creek Shopping Center. South Creek Shopping Center’s offerings are diverse, and while the complex is anchored by Food Lion grocery store, there are also service businesses and dining options. One of the area’s most renowned Italian restaurants, Italian Delight, is situated within South Creek, as is a true Flat Rock staple, Powhatan Pharmacy. Sweet Shop Donut’s Café and Great Clips round out the offerings of the center, and continuing along Route 60 past South Creek provides access to a Walmart Supercenter and further shopping opportunities.
Because this locality abuts Chesterfield County, there are several neighborhoods that are spread across both counties: Bel Crest, Founders Bridge, Huguenot Hundred and King William Woods. That being said, there are also plenty of popular communities that are unique to Flat Rock, including French Hill, Chestnut Oaks and Elioch Trace. Many of the subdivisions within the area are smaller in size, and this makes the Flat Rock region an intimate environment and the perfect place to kick back and relax in Powhatan County, Virginia.
