Powhatan Wildlife Management Area is a magnificent place to discover and includes more than 4,400 acres of lush countryside. Several small waterways surround the park and make fishing, swimming and general water exploration possible.

The communities within Tobaccoville/Ballsville also benefit from the natural feel of the area. Two of the most popular subdivisions in the region are Walnut Creek and Mattox Crossing (eastern part of the area). Both neighborhoods are served by the Powhatan Elementary School District, yet residents have the option to take advantage of a private education at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot. Seclusion and convenience meet in this portion of Powhatan County.
