Smith’s Crossroads is a mostly wooden, rural area located in the northwestern portion of Powhatan County. This region is bordered by Tobaccoville to the south and offers convenient access to the more populated areas in the center of the county via Route 60. Maidens Road (Route 522) is situated in an ideal location within Smith’s Crossroads, and this gives commuters a nearby north-to-south byway.
Offering Water-Based Activities
Enhancing the natural feel of Smith’s Crossroads, the James River borders this region on the north and provides ample opportunity for water-based activities. Further, Powhatan State Park is just a stone’s throw away via Maidens Road, and here, there is practically limitless space to explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
Residents of this community are served by the Powhatan County Public School District, including Pocahontas Elementary School, Pocahontas Middle School, and Powhatan High School. Private education opportunities at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot are available just outside the region.
